Why We Anoint with Oil

To consecrate, to set apart, to dedicate a Person, Place or Thing to God.

When we are anointing with Oil, we are exercising our faith, in a loving and miraculous God who hears and responds to our prayers.

It is symbolic of our Faith in God and His ability to save, heal, and deliver.  

We can pray for ourselves and others for healing, deliverance, blessings, and to consecrate or to set apart a person, place, or thing onto God.

(James 5:14;  Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. 

Exodus 28:41; So you shall put them on Aaron your brother and on his sons with him. You shall anoint them, consecrate them, and sanctify them, that they may minister to Me as priests

Luke 4:18;The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,
Because He has anointed Me
To preach the gospel to the poor;
He has sent Me ^[a]to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives
And recovery of sight to the blind,
To set at liberty those who are ^[b]oppressed

 Acts 4:27;“For truly against Your holy Servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, were gathered together

Acts 10:38;  how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him
2 Corinthians 1:21; Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God,

Hebrews 1:9 You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness;
Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You
With the oil of gladness more than Your companions
